amalgama
This project has quite a funny story and I’ve been thinking for a while if I should expose it to the internet or not. I decided I should resume it to just a “bad collab” because these photographs are worth more than toxicity.
The model who was also the designer wanted something “fucked up” and later I would find out that she meant it towards the work process as well, not only the “aesthetic”.
In the end nothing happened with these pictures – they were supposed to be something big – and somehow, what I do with them now is kinda’ like the original concept as well.
The name Amalgama means in Romanian:
· To mix mercury with a metal
· To prepare an “amalgam” – something like a mixture of random things, can be used in different contexts as well.
· To mix up meanings of words.
This project also referred to an old Japanese (if I’m not mistaken) tradition, where they would repair broken vases with gold.
In a mixture of pictures to a project that’s fallen apart, I still want to shed light on these works.
I had fun taking and editing them and if I would get the time and chance (maybe in the future), I’d like to shoot up some bizarre fashion.
This is a remember this and also an “I have an idea. Maybe, when I’m done with the other ideas I’ll also do this idea.”
