inked craiova

Craiova was definitely an experience, as I went there to learn to tattoo and also get my certificate for it. I've met people from different parts of Romania or different countries. Didn't have issues with the wild gipsy gangs, but we were very close to be attacked by a pack of dogs, late at night.

The city was to my surprise (sorry?) quite beautiful, although I admit I didn't get to see the sketchy areas.

The way it looks, it reminds me of a combination between Cluj and Berceni neighborhood in Bucharest. It has beautiful parks, clubs - a historical center maintained better than the one in Bucharest, pubs, plenty of places to hang out and have a good time. Everything is cheaper.

Back in 2018 the traffic was not as insane as in Bucharest either, but CFR was disappointing.

The Tattoo School I attended is called Sfinx. You can find its website here.

From all the courses I searched for back in 2017-2018, this was the best one. I worked my ass of 8 hours a day for 10 days and started tattooing right after I got back home.

Bottom line, you might want to consider Craiova for a City Break. It does offer some opportunities for a cool holiday, but it doesn't stand out enough to be worth it longer (maybe I haven't explored it enough, though). For me it was okay as I had a main activity during the day and after the course it was nice to be able to relax in a city I've never been in before.
