ONION
This poem was featured in a Poetry Anthology. You can find out more about it here.
“I’m at a point of no return,
About to reach complete stability,
At complete fragility.
For the first time, I understand how
One pays, to embrace power.
I haven’t got all the money yet,
Besides, one can pay in death.
The money is made by evolution,
Every epiphany, a few cents,
Every surprising intuition, a nickel,
What brings me to tears, full dollar bills.
The more I hurt, the more I earn.
This builds an urge for closure,
Something I can experience dissociating,
As far from me as the reality on TV.”
