ENIGMA
We fear what we crave;
Everybody speaks in a different death,
In individual shattered glacial essences;
Rejected or misused - empty.
She and he - sleepers of the day
Inside are burning with a fire.
Behind my eyes everybody lies…
Caught in a thread - blackmailed by evolution,
With no substance coming from desire,
We confuse consuming with creating.
Towards tomorrow we're carrying
Leftovers of last nights;
When the moon used to melt
Where there were no boundaries,
Where there is always war.
When we never let go
Before someone is hurt.
When thoroughly, no one speaks
In rhymes and riddles,
Ghosts will wander into wondering minds
And no love will take us home.
Adding price tags to souls
Left us unkind.
Can we find a different way?
Hanged among the stars,
Where our guns become toys
And we have to replace for now,
Violence with curiosity.
On Earth conscience is foreign to people.
Only the maze is left,
Its map smeared allover what
We forgot in our self-sufficiency to sense,
As our numbers grew to cover
The nowhere-leading paths
Hoping in our mistakes to uncover
The trail which once led
Raindrops of ours into
What has been forgotten.
